Jeff is the Minister/Director of the Progressive Prison Project/Innocent Spouse and Children Project in Greenwich, Connecticut. He is engaging in new forms of prison ministries providing religious & spiritual support and giving voice to people affected by inner city, white-collar and nonviolent incarceration issues and their loved ones – before, during and upon reentry from prison.
They are “the first ministries in the United States created to support people accused or convicted of white-collar and other nonviolent crimes and their families.”
Jeff sits on a number of Boards serving ex-offender communities, including Family ReEntry, Bridgeport & New Haven, CT; Community Partners in Action (formerly the Connecticut Prison Association), Greater Hartford, CT; Healing Communities Network, New York, NY; the SouthWest Connecticut Justice Reinvestment Initiative, Bridgeport, CT; the Editorial Board of the book, The Justice Imperative: How Hyper-Incarceration has Hijacked the American Dream, Southport, CT; the Advisory Board of the Phoenix Association, Guilford, CT and the Advisory Board of Creative Projects Group, Los Angeles, CA (Kahlil Gibran’s “The Prophet,” 2014 Cannes Special Screening). Jeff was the recipient of the Elizabeth Bush Award for Volunteerism and the Bridgeport Reentry Collaborative Advocate of the Year Award 2013 & 2014.
He has been the subject of articles in national media including Forbes, “A New Class of White-Collar Victims: The Family,” & “Starting a Discussion on White Collar Crime and Recovery,” Absolute Return/HedgeFund Intelligence, “Helping Hedge Funders Cope With Prison: A Q and A with the Director of the Greenwich-based Progressive Prison Project,” Fairfield County Business Journal, “Collared: From Lawyer to Minister,” New York Magazine, Weston Magazine Group, etc. Jeff was awarded a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York, with a focus in Christian Social Ethics.
