Our four most significant goals:
- Reduce Connecticut’s prison population by 50% within five years;
- Reduce Connecticut’s recidivism rate from 67% to 33% within 5 years;
- Close 50% of the State’s correctional facilities within 5 years; and
- Reduce State spending on the prison system 50% in five years, with the bulk of the savings redirected to:
Proven evidence-based drug and mental health treatments,
Educational and vocational training, and
Post-release support and supervision programs.
